Editorial Moment: Vogue Italia Feb 2011

I know, I know this was last month but I just love, love, love Vogue editorials! (Except Vogue America. I love you cookies but the covers and editorials have been on an epic failure as of late.) When I look at these editorials I know that the art of photography is not completely lost. Yes I could do without the touch ups but I love that they use actual models as their muse and not some celebrity doing their best model impression.

Some of us readers miss models gracing the cover of magazines and editorials that are solely about the fashion and photography. I sometimes go to the basement of my university's library and just sit for hours looking at Vogue magazine from decades past. Before there was color on every page, before it was fulled with mostly advertisements, and before they reduced the size of the magazine it self. Oh how I wish fashion magazines were less business and more about the art of fashion.( Of course there are some very small fashion publications that still hold that integrity but I have to go on a search for those babies.) I want to walk into my local grocer and run to the magazine section because I want to see what fashion is coming next season and a display of a designers best work. Not a cover with some vacuous celebrity that is popular at the moment, save the fluff for People magazine.
