Designer Love: Shekhar Rahate

When I find a designer that I haven't heard of and fall in love with their clothes it is the same feeling you get when you realize "he/she likes you too", seriously I feel all bubbly inside. I got the same bubbly feeling when I discovered who designer Shekhar Rehate was. Of course me being very late to this party of of awesomeness because Mr. Rahate has been gracing the world of fashion for 15 years, I decided it was better late than never to write about this designer and his gowns. 

His blend of his own cultural influences with old Hollywood, makes for beautifully detailed and colorful gowns. His newest collection is entitled 10,000 beads because that is how many beads it took in order for him to make his collection. Details are not his only strong point, he really knows how to move fabric beautifully around a woman's body. 

Having gowns and dresses that truly fit like a glove is not an easy task and there are some designers (who shall remain nameless) that still have a difficult time mastering this art form. He has work has been seen nationally and internationally from beauty pageants to red carpet events which should be no surprise when you see the beauty of his pieces.
