Haute Couture and Whiskey Is One Month Old!
Pelvic thrust tutorial in case you needed to celebrate.
I'm slightly early on this but that's just how I roll. Next Sunday this crazy little horse and buggy show will be one month old. *cue cheering, pelvic thrusting, and random "booyas" * It has been an interesting month to say the least and I have learned more about blogging and the business of blogging more than I ever have before.I wish I had this awesome story of why I started this blog like" I was wrestled to the ground by an angry spider monkey and hit my head on a coconut, when I awoke from a month long coma beside James Franco I came up with the idea of Haute Couture and Whiskey." For me Haute Couture and Whiskey was created out of pure curiosity. I wanted to see if I could write about something I was passionate about and actually challenge myself to not only explore my writing style but to keep up with something for a long period of time. I will be the first person to tell you that I am self diagnosed ADHD and my attention span is all of about 15 minutes on a good day. I never was someone that could actually write in a diary or even keep an event calendar. I would write in it neatly for about 2 weeks and then I start writing on things: my hand, scrap pieces of paper, people, etc. It is all organized chaos I suppose but the fact that I have written at least twice a day on this blog for a month is really astonishing.
HC and W is sort of like having a gold fish, you want to watch it and feed it all the time but try not to kill it. Its easy to get excited about people actually looking at what you're writing and go overboard but I am slowly starting to learn that pacing yourself is key and the importance of quality content is way more important that the quantity of posts. I don't want to end up being the fashion blogger that has 50 trillion pictures on their blog with one sentence underneath. Sure they have a lot of followers after a while but how many people just want to look at pictures of shit you like? That's what twit pics are for.
My goal from now on is to bring you guys an honest look at fashion and write good, quality posts with information that might be useful. Of course if there is an epic sale somewhere I will be the first to tell you where it is without much font but outside of that I want to focus on content. Will I be gorilla posting like 5 times a day? Probably not but I will be posting something at least twice a day, I think that's fair even fashion has its lull moments.
I do want to say thank you to everyone who has come back to view the randomness that flows from my cranium and I hope you come back again. I have lemon cookies and fruit punch waiting for you if you do.
