The 1930s was the influence for Miu Miu's collection for Fall 2011. The collection brought out the strong, power bitch, glamor of Hollywood power house Joan Crawford. It felt as though they took pulled from Joan's wardrobe from the 30s and 40s and brought it into the 21st century, giving it a modern feel but not taking away its powerful presence. Strong shoulders, paired with cinched in waist only emphasized this look. Not needing to use fabric manipulations in order to bring out the look, Miu Miu chose to keep its lines clean and simple with simple bows and minimal buttons. The one thing that absolutely loved about this collection was its accessories and shoes. The shoes had a 40s flair in its silhouette but these brightly colored shoes were paired with either a silver or golden sparkled sock that really made the shoe pop. The large structured bags were large and beautifully made clutches. a definite must have. To top off this sporty, 30s look, Miu Miu gave her muses the 40s treatment with victory rolls and cat eye sunglasses with red lips, Mui Mui gave us a taste of the past and it just leave us hungry for more.
