Pantone your wardrobe under $50

The Pantone color system is the main color system used by fashion industry professionals. All of the colors that come in the system come with a number so designers, forecasters, and nosy fashion bloggers like me a like can be pinpoint the exact color being used. This spring and summer the colors will be more vibrant than ever, long gone are last years soft pastels, this Spring and next Spring is all about pops of color

.
It is generally said that  fashion cycle is a down theory, meaning that trends that designers create trickle down to the retail mark. My opinion is that it trickles up from street style, up to the designers and back down to the retail market. How else would you explain fashions sudden interest in street style? Conspiracy! Not really but this week I will be showing you some of this springs hottest colors, what they looked like on the runway, and some of the things you will find at your local retailer. Oh yeah and this post is a fashion under 50 as well so Happy Birthday!

As you already know that the Pantone color chip i'm about to give you the rundown on is honeysuckle. This soft color has a just the slightest bit of pop to make it stand out amongst other colors but not to over power an entire look.  Honeysuckle pairs beautifully with other colors as seen below in Emilio Pucci, Cynthia Steffe, and Marc Jacobs's Spring 2011 collections. When you go out shopping you will notice that most colors will come in different shades and tints so if you're not sure about wearing a color that is vibrant try to find a more muted tint.

Emilio Pucci

Marc Jacobs

Now that you've seen it on the runway these are some of the items I have seen in the retail market.
