Vivienne Westwood Is a Punk Earth Mother for Fall 2011

You know what? I love Vivienne Westwood. I just want to sit at her house, put my elbows on the table with hands on cheeks and just want her go. She is an artist in the purest form of the definition, just to get a glimpse of her thought process would probably make the movie Being John Malkovich look like a lecture on chipped paint. Even if you know little about fashion you know that Vivienne Westwood marches to beat of her own drum and this collection is no different. Instead of following the play book of dark and bold colors for Fall, Vivienne went for more earthy tones with of course lots of glitter because that's how she rolls. It's hard to put a central idea or theme to this collection, i'm tempted to call it " Everything and The Kitchen Sink" because that is exactly what it is. Vivienne doesn't really follow trends she makes her own and that is exactly what we love about her.

Models walked down the golden runway with Dias de Los Muertos like painted faces for Vivienne Westwood's Fall collection. Glitter shoes and knee high socks  complimented the mix of loose androgynous and structured feminine garments. The palette for this collection was very earthy, browns, hunter greens, and golden variations dominated the collection. But don't judge a collection by its color palette because this collection is anything but simple and down to earth. This collection is punk with its tough bold and sexy looks.Unafraid to play with garment structure and fabric mixture, Vivienne created layers of voluminous fabrics and simplistic soft draping. This collection as a whole is a walk through an art gallery of garments.
